Rirratjingu project management

Rirratjingu Project Management (RPM) was founded on March 6, 2023, as a private company. It is 51% owned by RAC and 49% by Sitzler Pty Ltd. RAC welcomes this partnership with Sitzler and the positive impact it brings to our ability to deliver projects.
Sitzler is a major Australian construction and civil engineering company, known for handling large infrastructure, defense, and commercial projects. As a partner in RPM, Sitzler will help support RAC’s sustainability goals by contributing to infrastructure projects across the Gove Peninsula. RPM benefits from Sitzler’s expertise in managing complex, large-scale projects in both urban and remote areas.
Our Project Management Aims
Rirratjingu Project Management has two main goals:

Increase RAC’s Capacity
RPM aims to provide RAC with more technical expertise, access to resources and equipment, and a stronger financial base. This will support future housing infrastructure projects.
Support Projects throughout the Gove Peninsula
RPM will provide project management services for several of RAC’s proposed projects throughout the Gove Peninsula. In 2024, RPM opened an office at the Rirratjingu Business Centre to meet their growing operational needs.

Challenges
Housing Shortage
The Gove Peninsula faces a severe shortage of housing, which limits growth and could harm future economic opportunities. Large-scale housing projects are essential for future growth, and RPM is well-equipped to manage them.
Employment Opportunities
The lack of employment opportunities on the Gove Peninsula is a key barrier to closing the gap for local communities. RPM is involved in numerous large infrastructure projects and, with the Barawun Career Pathway Program, can connect local Yolŋu people with training and employment opportunities as these projects progress.
Regional Uncertainty
As the closure of the Rio Tinto bauxite mine approaches, uncertainty is growing across Nhulunbuy and the Gove Peninsula. This could lead to people and businesses leaving the region. RPM plays a crucial role in supporting the local economy. Its reputation for delivering high-quality, sustainable projects will help secure funding. This will reduce uncertainty and encourage growth and confidence in the area.
